Top 10 High Priority Books on My 2019 TBR

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. How it works is that each Tuesday the host assigns a topic and then posts their top ten list that fits the topic. Every blogger can create their own top ten (or 2, 5, 20, etc.) list as well and link to the host’s. The topic for January 22nd, 2019 is: Books I Meant to Read In 2018 but Didn’t Get To.

December Wrap-Up + January Reading Month (2018-19)

Hello, dear readers! Hope you’re having a wonderful time on the last weekend of the year. Who else is excited for the new year? I have so many plans that I mean to execute (I shared some of them in this post) and I really hope I can carve out time every day to work towards all my goals. Before I start building castles in the air for January already, I’m going to recap how I fared on the last month of the year. November and December seem to have been slow months for me, but they share some remarkable differences, mostly in the quality of the books I read. Without further ado, let me give you all the juicy details!

Top Ten Tuesday: Books on My Winter TBR (2018)

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. How it works is that each Tuesday the host assigns a topic and then posts their top ten list that fits the topic. Every blogger can create their own top ten (or 2, 5, 20, etc.) list as well and link to the host’s. The topic for December 18th, 2018 is: Winter TBR. I love making TBRs but I rarely ever stick to them. Looking back at my older TBR posts, I found that my Summer TBR had a 70% success rate and my Fall TBR fared even worse with only a 30% hit rate. I want to be smarter about this season’s TBR so I actually pick books I’m very excited about and will positively read soon. Feel free to check back in spring and yell at me if I don’t have at least a 70% with this one!

October Wrap-Up + November Reading Month (2018)

October was one of the worst months of my life, to be honest. Not in terms of the books I read or anything related to that but personally. I don’t have a lot of words to share but I’m dealing with some really traumatic personal stuff, so I’d really appreciate some distance and understanding at the moment. It made me reconsider many things, go on a short hiatus at the end of October and I’ve been struggling since to get my life back to normal. This wrap-up may not be as detailed or wordy as usual mostly because I’m in the mood for brevity. However, sharing my love for books makes me feel marginally better, so I decided to write this post despite everything. With that sombre introduction out of the way, let me talk about the reading month I had and what I’m looking forward to in November.

September Wrap-up + October Reading Month (2018)

Weekends and new months are some of my favourite points in time, mostly because it means relaxation and a chance to start afresh. I didn’t really have a good reading month in September in terms of numbers but more on that later. It was a really hectic month and a bit of a low one for me personally. However, the blog did fabulously well and I’m so grateful for everyone’s continued support! Without further ado, let me launch into the details.

Top Ten Tuesday: Unread Books by My Favourite Authors

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. How it works is that each Tuesday the host assigns a topic and then posts their top ten list that fits the topic. Every blogger can create their own top ten (or 2, 5, 20, etc.) list as well and link to the host’s. The topic for September 25th, 2018 is: Books By My Favourite Authors That I Still Haven’t Read. I’m very guilty of not reading outside of a few books that I love by the lovely humans I consider my favourite writers. Without trying to make any excuses for this unacceptable bookworm behaviour, let me show you my list.

Top Ten Tuesday: Books on My Fall TBR (2018)

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. I really want to get to as many books as I can, what with review copies piling up and my mood reading getting in the way of reading some of my most anticipated books. Today I will showcase ten of them, divided into five different categories.

Reading 101: How to Decide What to Read Next?

I love reading but I have so many people in my life who don’t quite understand the fuss. If you’re of the same kind but like the idea of being well-read, then my series that covers the basics of becoming a true reader is for you! I already posted an introductory post way back in October 2017, which outlines the steps to becoming a book lover, so feel free to check that out if you haven’t. This post is for those of you who have already found that one book you thoroughly enjoyed and are looking for more but have no clue who to turn to or where to search. I’m dividing the post into two sections because shortlisting the book to read next is a two-step process, according to me.

Top Ten Tuesday: Books That Lived up to the Hype

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. How it works is that each Tuesday the host assigns a topic and then posts their top ten list that fits the topic. Every blogger can create their own top ten (or 2, 5, 20, etc.) list as well and link to the host’s. The topic for July 31st, 2018 is: Popular Books that Lived Up to the Hype. I’d done a blog post similar to this way back in February – Reading Hyped Books. What I’m going to do today instead is talk about books that were recommended to me by my bookish friends that were as good or even better than they told me it would be. I trust their reviews implicitly and would like to give them a shout-out because I usually decide my TBR based on friends’ opinion rather than read whatever is popular. I’m also going to mention one book that I want to add to my TBR because this person loves it or has recommended to me.

July Wrap-Up + August Reading Month (2018)

The wrap-up is early this month as well (I tend to do it on the first Saturday of the next calendar month, for those of you unfamiliar with my posting schedule) because I have an exciting post lined up for next Saturday. I had a very good reading month this time around because I’ve been a bit more free lately. I participated in a grand total of 3 readathons already and have squeezed in a fourth that begins on 30th July. Needless to say, I need to get back to my reading because I’ve over-committed as usual, so let’s get straight to the post!
