Top Ten Tuesday: Spring/Summer Cover Love

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. How it works is that each Tuesday the host assigns a topic and then posts their top ten list that fits the topic. Every blogger can create their own top ten (or 2, 5, 20, etc.) list as well and link to the host’s. There was no set topic for April 17th, 2018. as it was freebie, so I decided to go with: New Releases With a Spring/Summer Cover. It’s that time of the year again where the northern hemisphere is transitioning to warmer weather and I absolutely love covers that reflect this and happen to come out around the April-May timeframe. These are not necessarily all on my TBR, but either have some great diverse rep or are rated highly. I hope you all enjoy feasting your eyes on these beauties and piling them on top of your precariously balanced TBR stacks!

(Note: The average rating for these books will definitely change as more people rate them on Goodreads. These were the ratings as on 15th April, 2018, so please click on the Goodreads link provided to check the updated rating.)

February & March Wrap-Up + April Reading Month (2018)

Since I was on a hiatus around the time this post was supposed to go up for the February wrap-up, I decided to combine both the months into a single post. Both February and March were decent reading months, although I was still reeling from the effects of the book slump I mentioned in January, and my reading time was cut down severely due to work stress. I didn’t do well blogging-wise either as I was absent for a few weeks without any notice. However, I did manage some decent progress, so let’s focus on that.

The Sunshine Blogger Award

What better time to do this post than on a summer evening, right? I got tagged by The Readers Bay and Charvi from Not Just Fiction. The Sunshine Blogger Award is an award given by one blogger to other bloggers who are creative, positive, and inspiring, while spreading sunshine to the blogging community. I don’t know what I did to deserve to get tagged twice, but thank you so very much to them for doing it! 🙂 They have some really amazing blogs with superb content, so do check them out and show them some support! Before we get into the actual post, I’d just like to talk about how things have been recently for me.

Sunshine Blogger Award

I know I was absent for about 3 weeks on here and it was completely unplanned, so I am sorry for that. Things got very hectic and I just didn’t have time to keep up with blogging and bookstagramming for a while. However, now that I’m back on both the platforms, I’d just like to let you guys know about a few things. During my hiatus and in the past week, I was in a position where I felt really underappreciated as a blogger and content creator. I was even reduced to tears because I don’t really get much support in real life for what I do. The only thing that has kept me going is my limitless passion for books, blogging and the support I receive from the wonderful online community of bookish people, be it on Twitter, Instagram, the comments section of my blog or the blogger groups I’m a part of.

If you’re one of those people and I haven’t shown you much support in return, please know that I’d love to but it’s going to take me a little time to get everything together. I will surely make it my priority to do so the second it’s possible. Your support has kept me going through some tough times here and I really appreciate every like, comment and share. It honestly means the world to me that there are people out there who actively consume my content and actually enjoy it. This blog and blogger would definitely not be here without you and I’d like to thank you from the core of my being for all the love you’ve shown.

Top Ten Tuesday: Books on My Summer TBR (2018)

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. How it works is that each Tuesday the host assigns a topic and then posts their top ten list that fits the topic. Every blogger can create their own top ten (or 2, 5, 20, etc.) list as well and link to the host’s. The topic for March 20th, 2018 is: Books on My Spring TBR. It’s already summer here in my country, I’m going to be talking about the books I plan to read in the months of April and May. June signals the start of monsoon, so I’m not sure if I can get to all of these in time, but let’s be honest, we bookworms all have ridiculous TBRs!

The Read-A-Thons Wrap-Up

It’s the final day of BookTube-A-Thon today! With a heavy heart, I’m going to say goodbye to the two wonderful read-a-thons (FYI, that’s BookTube-A-Thon and Summer Biannual Bibliothon) that helped me get through seven books in a week. This is a personal record for me. Although I tailored my TBR to complete all of the reading challenges, I read five new books and had the best time as I loved all of them. In this post, I bring you some fun stats as well as mini-reviews and talk about my reading experience.

Summer BiBib Day #7 – Letter to a Character

The final day for the Summer Biannual Bibliothon is here! I’m feeling kinda sad that it’s over. It has really helped me put a dent in my TBR and I know I’ll finish seven books by the end of this week. I can’t believe I read that quickly but this community reading aspect has been a good motivator. I’m pretty sure I’ll be taking part in the Winter edition as well, especially if the blog challenges continue. I realised on Sunday that there were blog challenges on each day, so I was unprepared. Without dilly-dallying, let’s get to today’s challenge. This is hosted by Dylanthereader and here’s the description:

Today’s challenge is to write a letter to a character! This can be from your point of view, or a character’s! Do what you want!

BiBib Day 7

For this challenge I picked Charlie from The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky. If you aren’t aware, it is written as a series of letters by Charlie to an unknown recipient. I thought it’d be fun to write back to Charlie from the POV of that person.

Summer BiBib Day #6 – 25 Bookish Facts About Me

Ahem, I don’t know why anyone would want to know facts about me, but I’m all about getting these challenges done, so I’ll try to think of some. This challenge is exactly as it sounds and is hosted by wolflibby0914. For those of you who don’t know, I’m taking part in all of the blog challenges of the Summer Biannual Bibliothon. Day 6 being the penultimate day, I must say that I had such a blast with this read-a-thon and am yet to complete only one of the books to finish of all the reading challenges. I couldn’t take part in the Twiter sprints, unfortunately, but one can’t have everything, I suppose. Alright, let’s get to the post itself now.
