Top Ten Tuesday: Epic Book Mashup!

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. How it works is that each Tuesday the host assigns a topic and then posts their top ten list that fits the topic. Every blogger can create their own top ten (or 2, 5, 20, etc.) list as well and link to the host’s. The topic for August 7th, 2018 is: Books You’d Mash Together. This basically means that you pick two books you think would make an epic story if combined. I have 5 exciting mashups to show you all today, so let’s get into the post.

Top Three Thursdays #24 – Genres I Avoid

Hello and welcome! This is my weekly series, Top Three Thursdays, or, for convenience, TTT. Every week I discuss my top three in any bookish topic. If you’d like to participate, write up a post on your blog and leave a link to it in the comments below.

The topic for today (2/11/17) is: Genres I Don’t Prefer to Read

‘Tis the season of Halloween and pumpkin lanterns have taken over my social media feeds. However, it is not my cup of tea. Today I’m going to tell you about the kind of books that I prefer to pass over. But before you proceed, I’d just like to make it explicitly clear that just because I don’t like certain topics in books doesn’t mean you’re not allowed to like them or that I’m deriding your interests. If you’re not a fan of whatever I like to read, that is perfectly fine as well. Please remember that everyone is entitled to their own opinions.

Reading 101: How to Become a Bibliophile?

This post is dedicated specially to all the people in my life who have patiently heard me ramble about books but don’t share in the joy. It is an introduction to the exciting and vast world of literature for those who would like to get into reading. In my experience, many people don’t read because of reasons like time constraints or that they’ve fallen out of touch with current releases or that they’ve read books that haven’t appealed to them, but like the idea of developing a reading habit. If you happen to belong to that category of people, I hope that you find this helpful.

Top Three Thursdays #19 – Tropes I’m Tired Of

Hello and welcome! This is my weekly series, Top Three Thursdays, or, for convenience, TTT. Every week I discuss my top three in any bookish topic. If you’d like to participate, write up a post on your blog and leave a link to it in the comments below.

The topic for today (20/07/17) is: Tropes I’m Tired Of

I mostly read young adult fiction and am comfortable with middle grade as well as children’s books, occasionally venturing into new adult or adult books. YA is infamously known for its clichés and I’ve read enough to grow tired of a few of them to the point where I’ve stopped picking up books that seem to give such vibes from their description. Here are the top three tropes I don’t want to see more of.
