Top 5 Short Book Recommendations

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. How it works is that each Tuesday the host assigns a topic and then posts their top ten list that fits the topic. Every blogger can create their own top ten (or 2, 5, 20, etc.) list as well and link to the host’s. The topic for August 13th, 2019 is: Book Characters I’d Love to Be Besties With. I don’t feel strongly about this topic, so instead I decided to do a recommendations post today on short/thin books that can be finished in one sitting. I’m considering books with less than 300 pages for this.

Top Ten Tuesday: Best Fictional Villains

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. How it works is that each Tuesday the host assigns a topic and then posts their top ten list that fits the topic. Every blogger can create their own top ten (or 2, 5, 20, etc.) list as well and link to the host’s. The topic for October 23rd, 2018 is: Villains. The kind of villains I like are the ones who are morally grey and relatable people. There should be a little bit of good in them, or at least the possibility of good. Here I list down five of my favourites, along with what I like and dislike about them.

Top Ten Tuesday: Best Books of 2018 (So Far) + Mid-Year Book Freak Out Tag

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. How it works is that each Tuesday the host assigns a topic and then posts their top ten list that fits the topic. Every blogger can create their own top ten (or 2, 5, 20, etc.) list as well and link to the host’s. The topic for July 10th, 2018 is: Best Books I’ve Read In 2018 (So Far). I decided to combine it with a tag today because I didn’t have a lot to say about my favourites other than I hope that everyone reads it and loves it as well because they’re SO GOOD! I had initially planned to do the Mid-Year Book Freak Out tag on a Saturday post but it just wouldn’t fit in the timeline for this month. Two things to note: nobody actually tagged me to do it (at least not to my knowledge) and although I’ve rated many more than 10 books 5 stars already this year, I wanted to feature some lesser-known but excellent stories so that they get more hype.

Top Three Thursdays #24 – Genres I Avoid

Hello and welcome! This is my weekly series, Top Three Thursdays, or, for convenience, TTT. Every week I discuss my top three in any bookish topic. If you’d like to participate, write up a post on your blog and leave a link to it in the comments below.

The topic for today (2/11/17) is: Genres I Don’t Prefer to Read

‘Tis the season of Halloween and pumpkin lanterns have taken over my social media feeds. However, it is not my cup of tea. Today I’m going to tell you about the kind of books that I prefer to pass over. But before you proceed, I’d just like to make it explicitly clear that just because I don’t like certain topics in books doesn’t mean you’re not allowed to like them or that I’m deriding your interests. If you’re not a fan of whatever I like to read, that is perfectly fine as well. Please remember that everyone is entitled to their own opinions.
