Top 5 Books That Are Worth Reading Again

I was a huge re-reader until a couple of years ago when I started my book blog. The pressure of keeping up with review copies and the hyped books has kept me away from picking up my old favourites again. In the recent past, old series are being renewed again or sequels are coming out years later which have necessitated re-reads from publishers themselves. The book community has also embraced re-reading as a way of defeating the dreaded reading slump or as pick-me-ups on bad days. That is why today I feel comfortable sharing a list of books from my past which I want to read once more.

Top Ten Tuesday: Longest Books I’ve Read

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. How it works is that each Tuesday the host assigns a topic and then posts their top ten list that fits the topic. Every blogger can create their own top ten (or 2, 5, 20, etc.) list as well and link to the host’s. The topic for October 9th, 2018 is: Longest Books I’ve Read. There are several different ways to interpret this but I’m going with the most straight-forward one. I read books in several different formats, so it’s tough to compare those. Instead, I’ll be listing the top ten books that felt like they were long to me as I read them rather than look up and compare page counts on Goodreads. Also, I’m only going to mention a book from a series just once.

Top Ten Tuesday: Popular Series I Haven’t Read

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. How it works is that each Tuesday the host assigns a topic and then posts their top ten list that fits the topic. Every blogger can create their own top ten (or 2, 5, 20, etc.) list as well and link to the host’s. The topic for June 26th, 2018 is: Series I’ve Given Up On/Don’t Plan to Finish. As I’ve already talked about similar topics in previous TTT posts, I thought I’d change the prompt to talk about some extremely well-known series that I just haven’t gotten around to. There was a period of around two years (2013-2014) where I just stopped reading fiction and lost touch with new releases. I also didn’t read the hottest new books till 2017 started. So, I’ve accumulated a backlog of famous series and I really want to get to them all some day. I know I’m going to get a lot of comments that will have reactions of shock and outrage, but I just want to tell you that I’m trying my best to have a mix of backlist books and new releases, so they have a solid place on my TBR. To make the post a bit more interesting, I’m going to state the reason why I want to read it (other than everyone I know raving about it of course) and what I will rate the series as a whole.

Top Three Thursdays #15 – Mystery Series TBR

Hello and welcome! This is my weekly series, Top Three Thursdays, or, for convenience, TTT. Every week I discuss my top three in any bookish topic. If you’d like to participate, write up a post on your blog and leave a link to it in the comments below.

The topic for today (08/06/17) is: Mystery Series I Want to Complete

These are very popular series that I’ve read a few books from but I want to re-read from starting to finish so I don’t miss out on anything. I had hoped to make June a ‘Mystery Reading Month’, but my plans went a little haywire because my reading mood didn’t cooperate. I still hope to finish these series in 2017, which is super-ambitious, but I’ll try anyway.
